With just 10 feature films, David Fincher already has so many classics. Please vote for your top THREE Fincher films.

Fight Club and Se7en are in my top 100 and Zodiac probably, too, so this is easy. I was surprised to realize that he made sevefral films I don’t care for much (dreary Benjamin Button, disappointing Panic room and paint-by-numbers Gone Girl). FWIW I also liked Netflix’s House of Cards, esp. the first season where you see his handwriting most strongly.

I really liked Gone Girl, but I think it is mostly because of Rosamund Pike – I think she is great!

I really did not get the hype for that film at all. It seemed more like a TV movie to me with twists you could see from miles away and a terrible performance by Neil Patrick Harris :-(.

David Fincher is definitely among my favourite directors, he constantly delivers great movies. My least favourite movies from him are Alien 3 and The Game but I still gave those a 7/10 so those are still good movies in my book. It’s gonna be pretty hard to decide which ones to vote for here with Se7en, Fight Club, Benjamin Button, The Social Network and Gone Girl all movies that I love and probably all in my top 100. I’m gonna need to think about it for a few days.

I do not dislike any of his films either. I have not seen Benjamin Button yet though! 🙂

I had a similar reaction – didn’t realize how many pedestrian movies he made… surprised you don’t like Zodiac?

I only watched it once and I found it very boring. Maybe it needs a revisit?

Actually I haven’t re-watched it either but I remember liking it the first time. I’m Not really sure re-watching does much past 20-something – so go watch sth new, Apartment Zero!

Apartment Zero is great – a lost classic!

I first found that late night on a local TV station in New Orleans – really amazing in so many ways!

I think I saw it on TV first and then managed to track down a DVD a few years ago and watched it again. It does not get the attention it deserves!

Yes, one of my favourite non-Bogumils movies. Did I tell you about my experiences teaching at Bogumil University? I lived in a traditional mud hut while doing so, eating roots that would be poisonous to lesser mortals.

I would like to see a Bogumil feature film. You did not share these fascinating facts, but they sound wonderful!

It definitely needs a revisit!! Zodiac and boring are two words that should not be in the same sentence together! 🙂
