The wait is over! Here are the selections for July, August and September (IFG 14, 15 & 16). Actually it will be IFG 14, 15 & 17 as IFG 16 will be one of the films that nearly got selected in the last two polls. The Second Chance September film poll will open later this month.
As always, it is a great selection. The eleven films represent eight different countries and films from 1973-2019.
Below is some more information about the films – all copied from IMDb (the genre, brief description and rating are all direct copies, so if you don’t agree with them it is the fault of IMDb!)

Oculus (Mike Flanagan, 2014, USA) Horror/Mystery. A woman tries to exonerate her brother, who was convicted of murder, by proving that the crime was committed by a supernatural phenomenon. 6.5

The Imitation Game (Morten Tyldum, 2014, UK) Biography/Drama/Thriller. During World War II, the English mathematical genius Alan Turing tries to crack the German Enigma code with help from fellow mathematicians. 8.0
The Magdalene Sisters (Peter Mullan, 2002, Ireland) Drama. Three young Irish women struggle to maintain their spirits while they endure dehumanizing abuse as inmates of a Magdalene Sisters Asylum. 7.7
The Sting (George Roy Hill, 1973, USA) Comedy/Crime/Drama. Two grifters team up to pull off the ultimate con. 8.3
Please vote for SIX of the selection. As usual any that almost get selected will appear in the second chance poll later this year.
19/04/20 Note: Once Upon a Time in America has been removed as I realised that the film had been in a previous film selection poll. I think it best that films do not re-appear in the polls until at least a year since their non-selection. Unfortunately, as several people had already voted, no replacement film will be included.
Crétin! Tarkovsky’s films should be watched in reverse order!

Sorry for the mix up everyone – a film was included that had been included in a previous selection poll, so I was frantically trying to make it right. The poll is now live!

I tried to make it varied and include at least two films from everyone who nominated. I’d be very happy with any of them. I have seen a few of them, but all the ones I have seen are so great I would love to have an excuse to watch them again! 🙂
